About the Project…

Many people have inquired about our Extreme Makeover Campaign and what it means for the future of the shelter. It means a brighter future for our animals, staff and the public whom utilize our facility. The Capital Campaign is a program designed to improve the shelter’s infrastructure and therefore care of the animals. If you have ever visited the shelter you have experienced firsthand some of the challenges we face on a daily basis such as the narrow entrance and insufficient gathering spaces to visit with our animals. Others fall out of the public eye, such as limited isolation/quiet areas for our animals under veterinary care as well as poor food and supply storage. Our entire team works very hard to function within the current limits however, at some point change must occur.

That being said, after months of reflection, discussion and consultation with experts in the field, including visits to other animal shelters; the volunteer board of directors has made the difficult, but necessary, decision to renovate and expand the shelter. The current shelter footprint will remain and significant improvements will be made.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
