A New Year's Resolution...
_Volunteer.
With the New Year straight ahead, how about resolving to give a little
of your time and talent to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter. We've already
promised ourselves to make every effort to recruit more volunteers in
2012. Why not join us in keeping our resolution, and see just how good

Our Story...
_The
Griffin Pond Animal shelter was established as the Humane Society of
Lackawanna County in 1938 to provide shelter for homeless, unwanted,
and abused animals. Griffin Pond Animal Shelter works daily to prevent
cruelty to
animals and promote responsible pet ownership while sheltering, loving,
and caring for approximately 7,000 animals each and every year. We do
all this without benefit of being a public agency. Our mission is met
completely by your philanthropy and caring. Please know that we do not
receive a nickel from any national organizations, nor are we a local
affiliate of any of them. We are autonomous and independent, serving
Lackawanna and Wyoming Counties.
