Please note that volunteers for events must be over 16 years of age.
We welcome groups or individual students who are too young (or not able to walk dogs) to submit project ideas that focus on a solution or opportunity to help animals.
Some ideas for projects include increasing awareness about the shelter and adoption, the importance of spaying/neutering or animal cruelty awareness/legislation.
Another great way to help is to organize a supply donation drive for the shelter. Ask local businesses in your hometown if you could collect items from our Wish List at their place of business. Good businesses to ask include banks, insurance companies, community libraries, local shops and stores. These are just suggestions but always seek permission first from the business before you set up a donation drive or publicize this kind of event. Collect mildly used items like pet beds, towels, blankets and sheets because could always use more!
Anyone wishing to host a public donation drive or fundraising event, or looking to promote their business for the benefit of Griffin Pond Animal Shelter must receive our permission to utilize our brand name and Logo. For approval, please submit your service hours/awareness project proposals to: email@example.com
Creativity and talent is a wonderful thing to utilize when helping a charitable organization! We are open to your ideas, so please share any ideas you come up with. You may want to even tie into an awareness project or supply donation drive project.
Some ideas for creativity projects include bake sales, baking treats for the shelter animals, making toys, t-shirt condos, making holiday decorations/ornaments, etc.
Think of ways you would like to help animals in your community who are in the care of Griffin Pond Animal Shelter and create a project proposal. Make sure that your idea fits into the scope of your school service project guidelines.
